Sponsorship

For $40 a month, you can change the life of a child in need.

Sponsorship

Sadie Shares Sponsorship offers a unique, family-focused, kid-friendly opportunity. Through sponsorship, a student at the Good Samaritan School can connect with a family in the United States, building a bond of friendship that benefits children on both sides of the world.

Tuition

Your sponsorship dollars provide a child with a quality education, bringing hope for a brighter future. Education is usually the only means these children have of breaking the cycle of extreme poverty. We see that cycle being broken every year at the Good Samaritan School.

Medical Care

Our school health clinic employs a nurse to help students when they’re sick, injured or have a chronic medical condition. When additional medical care is needed, our school provides assistance with doctor visits and hospitalizations.

Uniforms

Indian schools require school uniforms. Your sponsorship dollars alleviate the cost of uniforms for students who couldn’t otherwise attend school. Students are proud of their uniforms, and it is often the best clothing they own.

Nutrition

Our school nurse weighs and measures each student. When students fall below the average height or weight, the Good Samaritan School provides a high protein, nutritious lunch, so students can grow up strong and healthy.

Steps to Sponsoring a Child

1. Search for a Child to Sponsor

Who will your new friend be? Once you find a child that fits your personality, we’ll connect the two of you to begin your sponsorship journey.

2. Stay in Touch

Children will write to their new friend using the child-friendly letter writing template. By communicating with your sponsored child, children and their families will learn about who they want to become and help turn those dreams into a reality. Sponsored families are able to build a relationship with a child, and some even arrange to visit!

3. Become a Member of Sadie and Sunny’s Club

Children ages 4-12 become part of Sadie and Sunny’s Club, a program designed to help children remain engaged and excited about being part of changing the life of a child who lives in extreme poverty.

How does sponsorship work?

“I was thrilled by the opportunity to engage our grand-daughter who lives in Vermont in an opportunity to sponsor a child at the Good Samaritan School. One of our goals as grandparents is to impart our value of giving back to our grandchildren and the Sadie Shares program gave us the perfect opportunity. We try to meet weekly and go over the activities laid out in the Sadie & Sunny Club. We read bible stories, watch the videos on Zoom, and work on the activities together. We love sharing this journey with our grand-daughter.”

“The Good Samaritan School serves in an area of the world where poverty and desperation are pervasive. My daughter and I had the unique opportunity to visit Delhi and witness the awe-inspiring impact first hand. Sponsorship has allowed our family to have ongoing involvement in this ministry that is affecting real change in the lives of children who are so precious to our heavenly Father. Our dollars and prayers are able to have a continual impact where we physically cannot. We are so blessed and humbled to be able to support Ananthi and her staff at The Good Samaritan School.”

“The boys had so much fun doing this (Sadie and Sunny’s backpack activities). They said, ‘We can’t wait to go to India and play with Riya (sponsored student) some day!’ One day, maybe they can. In the meantime, we love doing activities to learn more about India and the GSS.”

Frequently Asked Questions

I’d like to sponsor a student to attend the Good Samaritan School (GSS), and I’d prefer a student my child’s age. I couldn’t find a match on the website. What should I do?

Not all our students who need a sponsor are on our website. Please email us at hello@sadieshares dot com with your child’s age and grade, and we’ll do our best to find a suitable match.

Our family just sponsored a child at the GSS, and my 8- year-old daughter signed up to be part of Sadie and Sunny’s Club. What happens next?

3-4 weeks after you sponsor, your child will receive a Sadie and Sunny’s Backpack in the mail (filled with ways to help your child learn about India, the GSS, and form a friendship with your family’s sponsored student). The backpack contains our children’s book, Sadie and the School that LOVE Built, a photo and bio of their new sponsored friend, a letter writing template and fun activities. We also include a parent guide with ways to help your child learn about India, our school, and develop character traits such as compassion and generosity. In addition, 3 times a year your child will receive fun packets in the mail with additional ways to stay connected and continue learning about India and our school.

I have 3 children. Our family wants to sponsor a student and have our kids be part of Sadie and Sunny’s Club. Can all 3 kids participate if we just sponsor one student?

Absolutely, we want the whole family to be involved. In our welcome backpack and 3 mailings each year, we will include activities for all 3 of you children.

I am a grandparent interested in sponsoring a child at the GSS. Could I connect my grandchildren with our sponsored student?

Yes, when you sponsor, you can sign your grandchildren up to be part of our FREE Sadie and Sunny’s Club. We will send you the same materials we send to parents with material you will find helpful to help your grandchildren connect to your sponsored student and learn about India and the GSS. It is a great way for you to bless your grandchildren with a friend in India while helping them to develop into compassionate and generous adults.
