Session 1:
- Introduce children to the Good Samaritan School serving the children living in extreme poverty in the slums of New Delhi.
- Help children understand, after watching the Lunchbox Love video, that they can make a difference by collecting change just like the children in the book “Sadie and the School that Love Built.”
- Decorate a kit box to collect change throughout the program.
Session 2
- Introduce children to India’s culture by learning about the food and clothing common at the Good Samaritan School.
- Encourage children to continue collecting change to help struggling families.
Session 3
- Introduce children to the ways the Good Samaritan helps students stay healthy and cares for them when they are sick or hurt.
- Encourage children to continue collecting change to help struggling families.
Session 4
- Give children an understanding of how education impacts a child living in extreme poverty.
- Encourage children to continue collecting change to help struggling families struggling during the Covid-19 lockdown.
- Share with children how their generosity can change the entire path of a child’s life.
Session 5
- Help children celebrate their gifts and the ways that the Good Samaritan School students will benefit from their generosity.
- Ask children to send an encouraging note to a student or teacher.
- Encourage children to explore sponsorship with their family and continue learning about and supporting the work at the Good Samaritan School.
